It has been a long time mate (30 odd years in fact). Do you remember Orara High 1979 and when we saved the bloke from drowning in the surf at Lennox Head?
Anyway, I have noticed that you have now committed yourself to a potential political lobotomy in the Federal arena, and I wish you well in your aspirations.
Given that you are the new kid on the block (so to speak), you might need to know that there is a huge and burning issue within the Federal political arena and it all has to do with the indexation and taxation of Military and Commonwealth Retirement Pay. This issue not only affects those who have reached retirement age; it also greatly affects those who have been forced into early retirement due to injury or illness and also war widows, widows and orphans.
Senator Lundy is certainly across these matters and I would recommend that you call her as a matter of priority to apprise yourself of this very important issue, which affects 600,000+ people. Please say “G’day” to Kate for me …. she knows me well!
